Dear Friends,
Welcome! Thank
you for your interest in my catalog. I have been a grower of violets and
other gesneriads for approx.15 years. I’m active in several violet and
gesneriad clubs, past vise and current president of the Hoosier African
Violet Society and also an AVSA advanced judge. I’ve been fortunate to
attend 5 AVSA conventions and am currently a commercial member. I am also
active as both an exhibitor and vendor at the renowned Chicago Flower &
Garden Show. My horticultural entries have earned a blue ribbon or two
which I am very proud of but most importantly are the many friends that I
have been blessed with thru our hobby.
At the present
time the greatest share of my growing area is devoted to the growing of
streptocarpus. I do raise many violets and other gesneriads but I am not
able to keep stock of varieties to insure an order. I do sell violets both
standard and mini but at this time limit sales to wholesale my choice.
All orders are
shipped by USPS Priority Mail on Monday or Tuesday with delivery by
Saturday to avoid orders being held thru the weekend. All plants are
shipped in 2 1/2” or 3” pots with guaranteed safe arrival. I only ship
established potted plants---no leaves, cuttings, rhizomes, etc.
The best advise I
could offer to a novice grower or for that matter to any grower is to join
the African Violet Society of America (AVSA) and The Gesneriad Society
(formerly AGGS). Their publications contain a wealth of information
regarding all aspects of our hobby. Secondly I would recommend joining a
local club if possible and benefit from the friendship and knowledge of
fellow plant enthusiasts.
Several varieties
listed are now available in very limited quantities so please be generous
with a substitution list.
Substitutions will
ONLY be sent upon request in the event that a selected variety is not
currently available. If you are interested in a variety that is not
listed, you may inquire about it’s availability. I do have several
varieties in very small quantities that are not listed.
